Flash Paddle: Big Boy Double Crosser for Sea Kayakers
Date: Saturday Morning, June 12th, 2004
Time: In water and beginning paddle at 7:00 a.m.
Launch Fee: Launch is Free.
Dehydration: Bring snacks and plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Paddle Level: Warning! We could face confused seas and swift currents in a few areas, so please, this trip is only for paddlers with open water experience. You must also have self-rescue experience.
Route: Launch by the restrooms near the Ferry. Paddle approx 4 miles across Mobile Bay (open waters) to Fort Morgan beach. Take break. Paddle back to Dauphin Island.
Distance: About 8 miles.
Gear Check: There will be a pre-trip gear check for life vest, working paddle float, working pump and spray skirt - all mandatory gear for this trip. You'll also probably want to bring sun glasses and sunscreen.
Post-Trip Plan: Lunch to replenish lost calories at the Island Seafood Galley.

The festival is on Saturday, June 19th, to celebrate the Summer Solstice, the first day of summer, and all things summer. The location is in Ocean Springs, MS on front beach at the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, and there will be kayak related happenings going on throughout the entire day.
