October Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd beginning at 6:30 pm in the Tensaw Theater at the Five River's Delta Resource CenterFrom 6:30 - 7:00 p.m., we will share paddle reports and talk about up-coming paddles.  Beginning at 7 p.m., there will be a joint meeting between the MBCKC, the local Alabama Hiking Trail, and the Sierra Club as Hank Burch of Five Rivers presents on Forever Wild.  As many of you know, the Forever Wild Land Trust is up for re-authorization on November 6.  We need to spread the word and educate others about Forever Wild; please invite your friends to join the meeting.

September Meeting
Once again, thanks to Tom Meyer for hosting the paddle in which he took two Norwegian ladies  into the delta launching from Rice Creek and going to Bottle Creek / Indian Mounds.  Tom represented our club and our area well.  To quote the paddlers from Norway:  "we enjoyed every challenge and had a great time"  "thanks for an unforgettable day; the delta is fantastic!".  Tom did a presentation of this paddle at the September meeting, and it was enjoyed by all.  It has been a while since many of us have paddled to the Indian Mounds, and it was nice to see the photos which displayed the beauty of that area and our delta.

Notes:
A big congratulations to Rich Wetmore and his eight year old daughter, Riley, for taking first place in the tandem division of the Pink Paddle Kayak Race on August 18th.
